In a latest announcement, RSVP Movies has shared that Shweta Tripathi will be playing a pivotal role in Taapsee Pannu starrer Rashmi Rocket. The announcement was made on Tuesday, as the Mirzapur actress celebrated her birthday.
The actress, who turned 36 on July 6, is best known for her role as Golu Gupta in the Amazon Prime Video series, Mirzapur. Other films of the actress include the 2015 movie Masaan and 2017 movie Haraamkhor. Shweta Tripathi was last seen in the movie Cargo alongside Vikrant Massey. For Rashmi Rocket, she will be joining the cast along with Taapsee Pannu and Priyanshu Painyuli.
The announcement was made by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP movies on their social media handles. Taking to Instagram, the producer wrote “She fights the world for truth and justice, don’t let her smile fool you! Meet @battatawada as #MayaBhasin in #RashmiRocket! Wishing you another year of cheer! #HappyBirthdayShwetaTripathi,(sic)”

Directed by Akarsh Khurana, Rashmi Rocket is a fictional sports movie about a girl named Rashmi from Kutch, Gujarat. The villagers have given her the name Rocket, because of the speed at which she runs. The movie narrates how Rashmi’s aspirations and dreams become a quest for respect, honour and identity.
RSVP Movies had earlier described the character of Rashmi via a series of tweets. They shared that Rashmi’s biggest strength is her simplicity and that she will be coming to share her journey to inspire others. While another one of the producer’s tweets read “An eye that’s aiming for the finish line will see through all odds! Rashmi is here to inspire you with her journey.”
Meanwhile, Taapsee Pannu was recently seen in Haseen Dillruba that released on Netflix and has been creating headlines. Apart from Rashmi Rocket, Tapsee has Looop Lapeta, Telugu film Mishan Impossible and Mithali Raj’s biopic Shabaash Mithu in the pipeline.
