Some roles seem to be written in the stars for certain actors, finding their way to them as if destined. When actors step into these roles, they create magic, and the rest, as they say, is history. For actor Divyenndu, who has been around for quite some time, he was searching for that one breakout role that would give him the recognition he always dreamed of. That role came with the widely popular Amazon show Mirzapur, which has broken records and established itself as one of the landmark shows in the Indian OTT space. Divyenndu played Munna Bhaiya, a character who became famous for his eccentric behavior and the fear he commanded. But did you know that he wasn’t the first choice for the role?
Munna Tripathi is a crucial character in the Mirzapur narrative. He is the son of Baahubali Akhandanand Tripathi, also known as Kaleen Bhaiya. Introduced in Season 1 of the show, Munna quickly became a character you love to hate. His presence became a significant part of pop culture. In Season 3, his fate was one of the most anticipated and shocking moments as the season opened. However, recent reports suggest that Divyenndu was not the original choice for the role of Munna Bhaiya. Read on to find out who was!
The actor first approached to play Munna Bhaiya in Mirzapur was actually Amit Sial, who plays Inspector Ram Sharan Maurya in the show. In an interview with Filmygyan, Amit revealed, “Munna's character in Mirzapur was offered to me, but obviously, I wouldn’t have been convincing as Pankaj Tripathi’s son. But I am very happy with the role I played. I think that’s a classic character.”

Amit went on to express his admiration for Divyenndu’s portrayal of Munna Bhaiya, adding, “He is a very sweet friend and portrayed the character exceptionally well.” Like we said, some roles are just meant for certain actors.
The biggest question on everyone’s mind right now is when Amazon Prime Video plans to release Mirzapur Season 4. Recently, the streamer confirmed that the fourth season is indeed in development. Rasika Dugal, who plays the brilliant Beena Tripathi, hinted around the release of the third season that the real drama lies in the fourth season. The latest season finale saw Kaleen Bhaiya return to power, eliminating nearly every competitor, while Guddu escaped with Golu. The future promises to be intense, and we can’t wait to see what happens next.
