The makers of Mishan Impossible released the film’s official trailer earlier this month, and it has been getting a great reception. Swaroop RSJ, the film’s director, has now stated that the film is anything but a kid’s film.
Talking to Times of India, the director explains that the film is actually a fictional retelling of a true incident that took place in 2014 in Patna, where three school kids planned on getting rich by nabbing Dawood Ibrahim.
“Taapsee plays an investigative journalist in the movie. But the three kids are the main leads of the film. This is not a kids’ film though; it’s meant for everyone,” he said.
The director added that he wants to prove that a film will work as long as it is well-written and has good performers, even if stars do not headline it.
The film’s trailer, which was released by Mahesh Babu, has hit the right notes with the fans and already has over seven million views on YouTube. It shows three kids, who expect to do a better job than Hulk, Iron Man and Captain America, setting out to capture one of India’s biggest gangsters.
While child actors, Harsh Roshan, Bhanuprakash and Jayateertha take the lead in this comedy caper, the film also marks the return of Taapsee Pannu to Telugu cinema. She was last seen in the romantic action thriller, Neevevaro. The star also made her acting debut with the Telugu movie, Jhummandi Naadam, back in 2010.
Produced by Niranjan Reddy, Anvesh Reddy and co-produced by NM Pasha under Matinee Entertainment, the film is set to hit theatres on April 1.
