Mismatched became famous for its relatable, youthful, and "cutesy" take on modern romance, anchored by the chemistry between leads Rohit Saraf and Prajakta Koli. On February 3, Netflix India announced Mismatched Season 4, aka the final season, where the lead actors gear up to end the story.
Mismatched Season 4 is confirmed as the final instalment of the Netflix India romantic drama series, focusing on the conclusion of Dimple (Prajakta Koli) and Rishi's (Rohit Saraf) tumultuous relationship. After a three-year rise in Season 3, the final season explores their journey through adulthood, personal growth, and rekindled, yet changed, feelings for each other.
After endless, chaotic, and "mismatched" romantic tension, the final season is set to deliver a definitive conclusion to their journey from strangers to companions, against the backdrop of evolving, mature life paths.
Picking up from the events of Season 3, the storyline follows the characters as they grow, change, and choose different paths before returning to each other's orbits. The final season focuses on the characters' maturity, addressing the "mismatched" nature of their lives, not just their love, after a significant time-jump.
Talking about Mismatched Season 4, producer Ronnie Screwvala earlier shared that they are thrilled to bring Mismatched back for one last season. This show has become a true fan favourite, and the love for Dimple and Rishi has grown with every season.
"It’s been amazing to see how their story has sparked conversations, inspired fan theories, and built such a passionate community. Our collaboration with Netflix has helped shape a series that feels both personal and universal, and we’re excited to return with more of the emotion, chaos, and charm that audiences have come to love," he said.
Mismatched Season 3 (2024) on Netflix follows Dimple and Rishi navigating a long-distance relationship and career pressures in Hyderabad, centering on the "Betterverse" virtual reality project. This season explores themes of identity, digital addiction, and grief, with Dimple discussing the death of her father, while Rishi's professional success is a cause of personal insecurity.
