Tom Cruise has raised the bar for action and stunts in the world of cinema with his movies that keep us on the edge of our seats, knowing he performs most of his stunts himself. Over the years, the actor has only increased the level of risk, which is incredible. Remember the time he announced Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning while standing on a plane flying thousands of feet above the ground? This makes anniversaries of the Mission: Impossible movies even more special, as they represent milestones in the action genre that Cruise continues to redefine, one film at a time, without taking a break.
Today, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, which was released in 2011, turns 13. Legendary Indian actor Anil Kapoor, who was part of the film, has shared a series of pictures to celebrate this milestone.
Anil Kapoor, on his official Instagram handle, shared pictures from the red carpet premiere of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, which stars Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Paula Patton, and an ensemble cast. The actor reminisced about the film’s iconic moments, from scaling the Burj Khalifa to the memorable red-carpet appearances. He also shared a picture of himself with Tom Cruise and his daughter, Sonam Kapoor, in an Instagram story.

Here's to the legacy of impossible missions!"
The official synopsis for Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol reads: "Blamed for a terrorist attack on the Kremlin, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and the entire IMF agency are disavowed by the U.S. government, while the president initiates the Ghost Protocol. Forced to go 'off the grid'—left without resources or backup—Hunt must somehow clear the agency's name and prevent another attack. Complicating matters further, Ethan must undertake the impossible mission with a group of fellow IMF fugitives whose actual motives are suspect."
While many assumed the eighth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise would be called Dead Reckoning Part 2, Tom Cruise surprised fans with the new official title: Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. The film is set to release on May 23, 2025.
Announcing the title on his official Instagram handle, Cruise wrote:
"Our lives are the sum of our choices. Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. See you at the movies May 23, 2025."
