Mistry is an upcoming crime series on JioHotstar, and it stars Ram Kapoor as a genius-turned-chaotic detective who takes an unusual approach to solving cases. The trailer was released today. June 27, 2025, is when the show is scheduled to debut.
Officially adapting the critically renowned American series Monk for the Indian audience, Mistry was produced by Banijay Asia in collaboration with Universal International Studios and directed by Rishab Seth. The show centres on Armaan Mistry, a quirky and clever investigator who uses his wit and intellect to solve mysteries, even as he deals with his own peculiarities and problems in life.
The trailer shows Mistry taking charge of the crime cases in his own way as a police consultant. Although his methods are filled with quirks, his track record shows the best success he has achieved with his deductions. The trailer also gives a glimpse of the multiple cases that Mistry will be solving in his own way, despite obstacles and his uncontrollable OCD.
Mona Singh portrays Sehmat, his courageous and astute companion. Kshitish Date plays police officer Bunty, and Shikha Talsania plays Sharanya.

While discussing the show's tone, Seth stated in a statement that Mistry was never intended to be a typical detective show—rather, it's a thriller that doesn't take itself too seriously, yet manages to keep viewers engaged and on the edge. He stated that the show's focus on its characters is what drew him in. While talking about Kapoor's character, Seth revealed that Armaan Mistry is eccentric, but he is also incredibly insightful and brilliant. At its core, the show revolves around this contradiction. Directing Ram and Mona was an unforgettable experience; he had a blast doing it.
Armaan Mistry was one of the strangest, most fascinating characters he has played, according to Kapoor, who is making a long-awaited comeback to the crime drama genre.
He explained that the character's eccentricities serve as ways for him to deal with difficult situations and that's his method of establishing order in a chaotic environment. Still, Mistry manages to find order amidst the mayhem. Working on this project and accepting Mistry was an incredibly rewarding experience for Kapoor. He called it Mistry, a life full of strangeness, humour, and surprises.
The role of Sehmat, played by Mona Singh, is someone who counteracts Mistry's unpredictable nature, according to Singh. She said that Sehmat is vital to the plot and exudes confidence and strength. Instead of skirting Armaan's eccentricities, she stands firm, counters him, and, on occasion, outwits him. Singh stated that her character is an anchor with her agenda and tenacity. Because they are so unabashedly themselves, the characters in Mistry make one laugh, think, and laugh some more. In her opinion, that aspect of the story will resonate with the viewers.
Talsania added that the addition of her character Sharanya breathes new life into the Mistry universe. She called her character fiery, intelligent, and uninhibited, either adding to the mayhem or bringing it to a halt. The actor was able to delve deeply into her acting chops with this endeavour. Adding this type of humour—this crazy unpredictability—was such a thrill for Talsania; she has always enjoyed a decent thriller. She finds it exhilarating to be a part of a crew that is incredibly motivated, both on and off camera.
Beginning on June 27, 2025, JioHotstar will be the only place to watch Mistry on OTT.
