"I'm very surprised," Mithun Chakraborty told ANI when asked about the change in venue for the trailer launch. The actor-politician, however, assured that despite all disruptions, the film will be allowed for release.

Vivek Agnihotri and his team claim to have faced disruptions during the trailer release for The Bengal Files in Kolkata. The filmmaker claimed that the venue for the trailer release event was changed at the last moment. He further drew attention to the Kolkata Police being stationed outside the venue. Vivek Agnihotri claims this was a means to stop the film from releasing in the state.

Initial plans for The Bengal Files trailer launch

As per the original plan for The Bengal Files trailer launch, the team was supposed to release the trailer at a different venue, which was changed at the end moment. They were also supposed to screen the first 30 minutes of the movie but reportedly, that could not take place either. The movie's trailer released on Saturday, August 16, and promised to speak of the starting point of India-Pakistan-Bangladesh partition.

The Bengal Files, slated for theatrical release on September 5, is the third installment after Vivek Agnihotri’s The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files. Both the movies are currently streaming on Zee5 and can be accessed via OTTplay Premium.
