If things had gone as planned, Mohanlal and Mammootty would have already shot several portions together in New Delhi and Hyderabad for Mahesh Narayanan’s upcoming big budget film. However, with the Bazooka star having to take a break from the shoot, for the treatment of his health condition, the schedules for the film have now been derailed.

While this might cause chaos in a multi-starrer that involves superstars, that doesn’t seem to be the case for MMMN, thanks to all actors including Mohanlal, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara and Fahadh Faasil prioritising the action-thriller, even at the cost of some of their own much-anticipated projects being pushed to next year or them having to opt out of it.

The latest we hear is that Kunchacko Boban hasn’t given a go-ahead for Baby Girl, which is directed by Garudan director Arun Varma and written by Bobby-Sanjay duo. The film was supposed to mark his reunion with the writers and its producer Listin Stephen after Traffic. Arun, in a chat with OTTplay, said, “We are yet to take a call on that. He is waiting to see if the dates of our film clashes with Mammukka’s movie. The production team will take the final call.” If Kunchacko does drop out, Nivin Pauly has been rumoured to be in discussions to take up the lead role.

Meanwhile, reports also say that Mohanlal seems to have pushed his major projects to next year, after Mammootty had requested him to allot dates for MMMN, which is expected to be the next big release in Malayalam in 2025 after blockbuster Empuraan. The most-anticipated of these include Aavesham director Jithu Madhavan’s film with the Empuraan superstar. The movie was expected to go on floors later this year. While there has been no official confirmation, reports suggest that Jithu might now being doing another project with Fahadh in the interim.
