Nithya Menen turned many heads last night when she attended the audio launch of her upcoming film Thiruchitrambalam in a wheelchair. The Modern Love Hyderabad actress had suffered an ankle injury and had been on rest mode since then. When she turned up at the audio launch held in Chennai, despite the injury, her fans praised her commitment towards work. She also performed and song few lines from the song Megham Marukatha from the film.

Nithya had even been regularly posting updates about her injury on her social media page, "My ankle is a lot better. I have started walking now. I am able to put my weight on it. I did enjoy the immobility it caused because it came at the right time after I finished all my pending projects,” she had written. 

Interestingly, Nithya Menen had played a character called Noori, who had suffered an injury on her leg in one of the episodes of Modern Love Hyderabad. She had said, “How ironic is it that I am exactly in the same condition as my character Noori was in the film... and my mom is here cooking for me too ! Also , happy birthday 🎂 🥳 Revathy mam.. noone could say you're not my mom ! I'm glad people can finally see this... we should have done this a long time ago @revathyasha 🤎#ModernLoveOnPrime @nageshkukunoor @elahe_hiptoola @primevideoin (sic).”

Thiruchitrambalam, is directed by Mithran Jawahar and the film has Nithya Menen sharing screen space with Dhanush, Raashi Khanna and Priya Bhavani Shankar, along with Prakash Raj and Bharathi Raja. The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander and the song Thaai Kelavi has already become a chartbuster. Thiruchitramabalam is said to be a family drama and Dhanush is playing the titular character. The film will hit screens on August 18.
