Modern Love Mumbai has finally been released on Amazon Prime Video today. The much-awaited anthology series stars some of the finest actors in the industry along with a few aspiring ones. Fatima Sana Shaikh is one of the cast members, who is portraying the character of a Kashmiri Muslim girl living in Mumbai.
Modern Love Mumbai consists of 6 short stories that talk about love beyond the boundaries of race, caste, age, gender and culture. Fatima is a part of a story named Raat Rani, which has been directed by The Sky Is Pink fame director Shonali Bose. The ace filmmaker has recently been seen expressing her views on the Dangal actor's character in the Amazon Original series.
Fatima has been credited to portray the shade of self-love and self-acceptance in 'Raat Rani.' Speaking about the same, Shonali said, "And actually that story, because I liked the Anne Hathaway story the most. It’s a valid question because it is a high standard to go for but I also agree with Nilesh that what Fatima has done is no less than what Anne Hathaway has done."
Apart from Shonali, the famous personalities from the industry including Hansal Mehta, Vishal Bharadwaj, Nupoor Asthana, Dhruv Sehgal and Alankrita Shrivastava have directed their shorts titled Baai, Mumbai Dragon, Cutting Chai, I Love Thane and My Beautiful Wrinkles respectively.
Modern Love Mumbai, which is the Hindi adaptation of the English anthology of the same name, showcases diverse yet universal stories of multiple human emotions exploring different textures, parts, and faces of the city of dreams, Mumbai.
The romantic anthology, which also stars Pratik Gandhi, Ranveer Brar, Miyang Chang, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sarika, Naseeruddin Shah, Chtrangada Singh and Arshad Warsi among others, is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video now.
