Mimi Chakraborty was at her career’s peak when she contested an MP election from Kolkata’s Jadavpur constituency. With the election, she got involved in politics. Her party is somewhat in opposition to the central government. But the Modi government delivered a special honor to the MP of Jadavpur. Mimi Chakraborty shared the news on her Twitter. The central ministry of health and family welfare bestowed this honor. A few months ago, Mimi adopted 10 TB patients and took responsibility for their well-being and treatment. Hence she was honored by the government.

In November 2022, Mimi went to the Nalmuri Block Hospital in Bhangarh. She is the chairperson of the managing committee of the Jirangacha and Nalmuri hospitals of Bhangarh. She announced the adoption of 10 TB patients there, and her step was praised.

The certificate said that Mimi has registered as the Ni-Kshay Mitra under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan to provide support to persons with TB undergoing treatment. Your valuable support will help the country in eliminating TB from India.'

Mimi thanked the Modi government and wrote, “I would like to thank the Government of India for recognising my drive of adopting 10 TB patients. As I am penning down this note, I would like to request more people to come forward and join this noble cause. One kind step can save many lives.”
