2025 was the most affected by AI and the change was introduced to Indian cinema with Dhanush-Sonam Kapoor’s film, Raanjhanaa. The ending of the movie was altered using the technology. While filmmaker Aanand L. Rai, who helmed the movie, did not agree to the change, the film re-released in theatres with the altered ending. Most of the actors associated with the scene reacted strongly to the ending, except Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, who had not seen the altered ending at that point. Now that his series Real Kashmir Football Club is scheduled for release, OTTplay caught up with the actor and asked his opinion on the scene. While speaking about his own character, the actor also pointed out how his co-star Swara Bhasker’s character altered by AI left a bad taste.

When asked how did he feel at that point, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub called it ‘rubbish’ and stated, “In my personal opinion, it was rubbish. The way they did it, it was not in a very good taste. The way they changed it, they killed the performance and that part. The story works as a whole. Raanjhanaa became a cult because of that ending. I did not like it.”

His strong stance continued as the actor told OTTplay that he would not want to watch the movie with such an ending. “I wouldn't ever watch the film with that ending. I saw it on reels, that too when tagged on them. I didn't even know and thought that people made the ending viral again because that has kept happening over a decade now. I got a call from a journalist for a comment and I had not seen the scene at that point,” the actor recalled.

Soon to be seen in Real Kashmir Football Club, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub felt that the reaction that was forced out of his character through AI just didn’t fit the bill. He said, “The reaction also is the worst kind of acting. Just because you feel like crying, you wipe away the tears. They did that with my character. I was laughing and wondering what is unfolding.”

While watching the scene, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub noticed a grave mistake. He realized that while AI could alter and put a smile on Swara Bhasker’s character, it forgot to change what her eyes express. “With Swara's character, they put a smile on her face but forgot to change the expression in her eyes. So, it looks really funny. The eyes are in pain and there's a weird smile on her face,” he recalled.
