Mohanlal and Prithviraj’s BroDaddy shifts shooting location to Hyderabad

With the Kerala government still not relaxing restrictions amid the pandemic, filmmakers are looking at other options to begin the shoot of their projects. Mohanlal and Prithviraj’s Bro Daddy could shift its locales from Kochi to Hyderabad and Bengaluru due to the restrictions. 

The initial plan of the producers was to begin Bro Daddy after Mohanlal completes his portions in Jeethu Joseph’s mystery thriller 12th Man. The sets for 12th Man have already been erected, but with the State government yet to grant permission for outdoor shoots, the producers seem to have pushed the work of Jeethu’s film for later. 

Prithviraj’s directorial Bro Daddy could now begin first and the filmmaker, we hear, has already begun work including scouting for locations outside the State. The bulk of the shooting will be in Hyderabad with Bengaluru being another option. 

The movie also has Kalyani Priyadarshan, Meena, Lalu Alex, Kaniha, Murali Gopy and Soubin Shahir. Talking to OTTplay, Prithviraj had said, “I just think that, especially given the type of content that is being produced and created in the past one and half years, all of us badly need a happy film. At least, personally, I would like to see one that puts a smile on your face and you laugh through it; something that gives you a few hours of happiness, nothing more than that.”

The actor, who was earlier set to team up with Mohanlal for Empuraan, said that he was personally looking forward to a feel-good movie but all he was offered were murder mysteries, thrillers and dark satires. “That’s when I heard the script of Bro Daddy. It really appealed to me and it made me realise how much we have missed a film like this. In my mind, it was never meant to be a huge multi-starrer or anything. I thought it was so different from what I am used to as it’s different from my first movie and my supposed second film; so, I wanted to give it a try,” he said.
