Malaikottai Vaaliban, helmed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, is one of Mohanlal’s highly anticipated releases. Dubbed a period drama, the upcoming movie will feature the legendary actor as a wrestler. There were rumours about the film releasing in December this year, along with Mohanlal’s directorial debut, Barroz. However, according to the latest reports, the actor has spoken about Malaikottai Vaaliban via his recently opened WhatsApp Channel. Mohanlal has revealed that there will be a new update about the film on September 18.

While Mohanal has confirmed the release date of Barroz, that of Malaikottai Vaaliban remains undisclosed. He said that the movie marks a new genre in Malayalam cinema , making a broad appeal to the audience, both as a spiritual and mass film. Malaikottai Vaaliban was filmed at massive sets in Chennai, along with some locations in Rajasthan.
