Mohanlal gets a rousing welcome at Sri Lankan parliament, here’s how Deputy Speaker introduced him

The Sri Lankan government extended a warm welcome to Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, who is currently in the country as part of filming sequences for Mahesh Narayanan’s upcoming movie that also has Mammootty, Fahadh Faasil and Nayanthara.

The actor, who will be in Sri Lanka for 10 days for the film’s shoot, was welcomed to the parliament and had observed the proceedings from the public gallery. The Deputy Speaker welcomed the superstar while other politicians who were also part of the session, joined in to greet him.

Mohanlal calls Sri Lanka a shooting-friendly location

“On behalf of the Speaker of the parliament of Sri Lanka, I wish to welcome veteran Indian filmmaker and film actor, Padmasree, Padmabhushan Mohanlal Vishwanthan to the Speaker’s gallery of the parliament of Sri Lanka,” greeted Deputy Speaker Dr Risvi Salih.

The actor, in an interaction with the media, called the country a “shooting friendly location with beautiful settings”. Last year, Mohanlal had kicked off the shoot of the big-budget Mammootty film, which is tentatively titled Patriot, in Sri Lanka and had shot with the megastar for six days. The current schedule also has Kunchacko Boban.

Mohanlal’s upcoming projects to look forward to

Meanwhile, Mohanlal is expected to join the sets of Dileep’s Bha. Bha. Bha as soon as he concludes his portions for Mahesh Narayanan’s film. He is also part of Vishnu Manchu’s Kanappa, which is set to hit theatres on June 27. Both movies have him in extended cameos.

The actor, who is already riding high with the success of L2: Empuraan and Thudarum this year, has Sathyan Anthikad’s Hridayapoorvam as his next big release. The film, co-starring Malavika Mohanan and Sangeeth Pratap, will hit theatres during Onam 2025.
