Mohanlal’s been doing at least one project every month since the lockdown rules were eased and his latest titled Monster, which is directed by Vysakh and Udaykrishna, promises to be an exciting action-entertainer.

The superstar revealed the poster of the movie that introduced his character Lucky Singh. The actor wears a turban in the poster and holds a gun with a few cartridges, guns and a silencer lying on the table. The team has not let out the one-liner of the film or the rest of the cast yet.

Monster is the second time Mohanlal is teaming up with Vysakh after their blockbuster film Pulimurugan, which was also scripted by Udaykrishna. The movie, which has gone on floors in Kochi, has Deepak Dev as its composer while Satheesh Kurup and Shameer Mohammed will serve as the cinematographer and editor respectively.

The past week, the movie’s producer Antony Perumbavoor had confirmed that Monster will also be an OTT release, much like Mohanlal’s upcoming films – Priyadarshan’s Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Bro Daddy, Jeethu Joseph’s 12th Man and Shaji Kailas’ Alone.

While Marakkar and Bro Daddy have reportedly been sold to Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ Hotstar respectively, the streaming platforms for 12th Man, Alone and Monster are yet to be finalised. Considering that the makers had planned the movie as OTT releases, it remains to be seen whether Monster will be a big-budget film like Pulimurugan.

Mohanlal’s next theatrical release, meanwhile, will be B Unnikrishnan’s Aaraattu that is also scripted by Udaykrishna. The team had announced that the film will hit theatres in Kerala on February 10, 2022.
