After a hiatus of one and half years, Drishyam duo Jeethu Joseph and Mohanlal are all set to resume the shoot of their action-thriller next week in Kochi. The shoot of the movie, which first went on floors in 2019, was brought to a halt due to the pandemic in February 2020.

As per reports, the shoot of the action thriller is expected to begin in the first week of August. The team will head to the UK and Morocco in September to conclude the principal photography of the big budget venture, which also has Trisha Krishnan, Indrajith Sukumaran, Adil Hussain and G Chandunath as part of its cast.

The film marks the fourth venture of Mohanlal-Jeethu Joseph duo after the Drishyam duology and 12th Man, which released on Disney+ Hotstar earlier this year. Jeethu in an earlier interview had told us that the delay in completing Ram has also forced the makers to expand its storyline and mount it on a bigger scale. The movie will now be released in two parts as opposed to how it was initially planned.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal has wrapped up the shoot of his directorial debut Barroz: The Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure. The film, which is a 3D children’s fantasy, had its final two days of shoot held in Chennai where the team had shot for its title song. Mohanlal had been busy with the film since December 2021, shooting it across locations in Kerala, Goa, Bangkok and Chennai.

The actor has also signed up for Athiran director Vivek’s film. His upcoming releases include Vyaskh’s Monster and Shaji Kailas’ Alone. The latter will be a direct-to-OTT release and is expected to drop on a leading streaming service in August. The thriller, which only has Mohanlal as part of the cast, is set during the pandemic and will also have Prithviraj Sukumaran and Manju Warrier lending their voices.
