It’s been over two years since the team of Jeethu Joseph’s Mohanlal-starrer Ram wrapped up its first schedule. Since then, Mohanlal has gone on to act in six films and Jeethu has directed three. However, with the pandemic showing signs of subsiding, the team of Ram is now expected to resume its filming soon.
Indrajith Sukumaran, who also plays a pivotal role in the movie, recently said in an interview that the movie will resume shooting from June-July in the United Kingdom, where the rest of the film will be set.
Ram, which has Trisha as its female protagonist, is touted to be an action thriller. The team had completed its schedule in Kerala and Tamil Nadu in February 2020 before the pandemic hit. Apart from India and London, the makers were also planning a schedule in Egypt or Turkey.
While it’s unclear if the team will be filming in these countries, the current plan is to finish off the London schedule. Indrajith also said that Mission Impossible’s action director will be choreographing the stunts for Ram. Last year, Minnal Murali too had a Hollywood action director as part of its crew, Vlad Rimburg, who had worked in Tom Ellis’ Lucifer and MCU’s Inhumans.
Adil Hussain, Durga Krishna, Leona Lishoy, Suresh Chandra Menon, Siddique and Saikumar are also part of Ram, which is a big budget film with Satheesh Kurup as its cinematographer and Vishnu Shyam as its composer.
Meanwhile, Jeethu and Mohanlal, who had worked together in Drishyam 2 in 2020, have also completed shooting for the mystery-drama 12th Man. The multistarrer, which also has Unni Mukundan, Saiju Kurup and Anu Mohan, is set to be a direct-to-OTT release. A source from the team had informed us earlier that the movie will release on Disney+ Hotstar. An April release is most likely for 12th Man.
