Mohanlal visits Kathanar - The Wild Sorcerer set; this is what he told the team

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal recently made a surprise visit to the set of the much-anticipated and high-budget Malayalam film Kathanar - The Wild Sorcerer, starring Jayasurya. The pictures capturing Mohanlal's interaction with Jayasurya and other members of the cast and crew have taken social media by storm since they were shared by scriptwriter R Ramanand.

During his visit, Mohanlal personally met all the crew members, expressing keen interest in the details of the film. Sources report that the actor was impressed by the production team’s efforts. Mohanlal conveyed his wishes to the team and told producer Gokulam Gopalan, “The film's set is awesome. I am sure that the film will also be great. My best wishes to everyone.” 

Anushka Shetty stars in the period fantasy film Kathanar

The third schedule of Kathanar commenced on November 7. Directed by Rojin Thomas, who is known for films like Philips and the Monkey Pen and Home, Kathanar also stars Anushka Shetty in a pivotal role. This is her debut in Malayalam films.

The film narrates the intriguing tale of Kadamattathu Kathanar and stands out as the most expensive production in Malayalam cinema to date. Having used advanced technology, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to deliver a visually stunning period film. Bankrolled by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies, the first part, Kathanar - The Wild Sorcerer, is slated to be released in 2024.

Mohanlal’s Empuraan drops its first look today, November 11

Meanwhile, there are some exciting updates as far as Mohanlal is concerned. The first look of the actor’s Empuraan, the sequel to the 2019 hit Lucifer, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, will be unveiled today (November 11) at 5 pm. A few days ago, Mohanlal also shared the release date of his directorial debut film, Barroz, which will be released in theatres on March 28, 2024.
