Mohiniyattam: Filming of Saiju Kurup's Bharathanatyam sequel wrapped up; Deets here

The production of the upcoming Malayalam film, Mohiniyattam, has been completed, the makers confirmed. The movie, which will be Saiju Kurup's 150th movie, is sequel of the 2024 comedy film Bharathanatyam.

Shooting updates of Mohiniyattam

The makers confirmed on social media that the shooting of this sequel has been completed. The filming began in November 2025. In the upcoming months, more cast information should become available and it is likely to release by the mid of 2026. The screenplay is written by the film's director, Krishnadas Murali. It was confirmed that Saiju Kurup, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Kalaranjini, Swathi Das Prabhu, and Sruthy Suresh will reprise their roles in the sequel. Jagadish, Santhosh and Nisthar Sait will also have important parts in Mohiniyattam. 

A sequel, Mohiniyattam, was announced in May of last year as a result of the positive reception Bharathanatyam garnered especially after its OTT debut. According to reports, the film would carry on the plot of Bharathanatyam, but it will belong to a completely other genre with elements of a thriller. A teaser or poster is likely to give more idea about the plot of this flick.
