Mohit Raina, recently seen in MX Player's Bhaukaal 2, has stated that he had never been to Uttar Pradesh before the web series happened to him. During a recent media interaction for Bhaukaal 2, Mohit said that not going to UP proved to be a big challenge for him since he did not have the background to understand where his character, that of Navniet Sekera, came from. Born in Jammu, Mohit has spent the prime years of his life in Mumbai, pursuing his acting career.
"I had never been to Uttar Pradesh and explored that side before Bhaukaal. Seeing what that would be 30 years ago was a big challenge," Mohit said at the press conference.
Mohit recalled how he would meet police authorities and how one such cop left a mark on him. "When we were shooting for the series, local authorities would meet us. One such cop had a heart-to-heart conversation with me and told me not to think I was just playing a character but representing the police force as a whole,” the actor shared.
He stated that the Maharashtra police officer is someone who Mohit meets on a daily basis. The actor further spoke about what it feels like to put on the uniform. “I talk to Maharashtra police from day-to-day. You get a sense of pride and responsibility after wearing the uniform. It is why we are lucky as actors—we get to play these characters. Since childhood, every boy has had a dream to wear a uniform, and mine came true,” Mohit added.
The actor also spoke about what he learned from Navniet Sekera. "What I learnt from him is that the higher you go, the more responsibilities you get and the only way you can go on is by staying grounded," Mohit said.
The Bhaukaal franchise features Abhimanyu Singh, Siddhanth Kapoor, Pradeep Nagar, Bidita Bag, and Sunny Hinduja in pivotal roles. In the second instalment, Siddhanth and Pradeep as Chintu and Pintu Dedha appeared as the antagonists.
