Parameshwar Gundkal, a noted name in the small-screen space who has previously worked on multiple TV serials and Bigg Boss Kannada for Colors Kannada, recently took over as the business head of the Kannada division of Jio Studios. Parameshwar, aside from kicking off several new projects for the studio, is also set to make his directorial debut under the same banner with Daali Dhananjaya as his chosen leading man.

The film is currently on floors and though the synopsis of the story is unavailable, other reports describe it as a commercial entertainer. The same reports also inform that Malayalam actress Anaswara Rajan is likely to make her Kannada debut with the film. The team involved in this is yet to comment on this.

In the same vein, we now hear that the makers have added to their cast with young Kannada actress Moksha Kushal coming on board. Although there is no formal announcement about this nor have the reports carrying this information divulged her role in the film, it would seem that Moksha is set to play a key role. It is uncertain whether she is roped in to play one of the main leads of this untitled project.

Moksha Kushal began her career in 2017 with Gangadhar Salimath's Ayana and has acted in other small-budget films like Aadipurana and Navarathna since then. The Daali Dhananjaya project, by all means, could be the breakthrough opportunity that she has been looking for.

As far as Jio Studios' upcoming slate of Kannada content is concerned, Parameshwar Gundkal's recent interview with a Kannada daily informs that the studio plans on developing and producing a number of films. Each film, appropriately, will be mounted on a different scale but what's apparent is that the studio plans to soon become an established entity.

On the other hand, Dhananjaya is set to start shooting for the two-part gangster epic Uttarakaanda, which also marks the return of Ramya or Divya Spandana to the world of acting.
