With all the fan-favourite characters holed up inside the Bank of Spain ready for a face-off with the Spanish Armada is where the fourth season of the acclaimed series concluded. Today Netflix released the fifth and final season of La Casa De Papel or popularly known as Money Heist.
In an interview with Indian Express, Itziar Ituno who plays the shrewd but loving Lisbon in the series said, “I get chocolate boxes, flowers and letters from India to the Basque Country and I know the show is a huge success in India. We can feel all that love here as well.” She also said that the story goes to a whole different level in the fifth season and she had to go through intensive training for stunts for the series finale.
According to Rodrigo de la Sena, the fifth season would be redemption for his character Palermo who began all the chaos by freeing Gandia, who ultimately kills Nairobi, much to the shock and grief of Palermo as well as the fans. The actor also hinted that Palermo will be gilded to redemption by his friend Helsinki.
Helsinki and Palermo became the best pair in the fourth season even surpassing the melodrama of Denver and Stockholm. Now they are both stuck in the Bank of Spain, all ready to fight the Spanish Army who is going to storm the building any minute, leading to the finale of the three-season heist that began as a rescue operation for Rio.
Meanwhile, Darko Peric commented that his character Helsinki is currently going through depression. Helsinki blames himself for Nairobi’s death and his brother Oslo’s death during season two and considers it unlucky for anyone to get involved with him. But he also said that the season is not about heists, it would be a war and everyone’s on “adrenaline”. He also expressed his wish to visit India someday.
With the fifth and final season released today, fans are relieved as well as a little sad in saying farewell to their favourite revolutionaries and thieves, until the second part of the season. Season five holds the answer to many fan theories and how the final showdown between Professor and the Government of Spain would end.
