The star-studded cast of Dev Patel’s maiden directorial venture is getting bigger. Ashwini Kalsekar is the latest star to be roped in for the action thriller film.

According to TellyChakkar, Kalsekar will join the likes of stars Sikandar Kher, Sharlto Copley and Sobhita Dhulipala in the film, which also features Patel as the lead. The upcoming film will mark Patel’s first project as writer-director. Paul Angunawela and John Collee have penned the film’s script along with Patel. The film is produced under the banners of BRON Studios, Thunder Road Pictures and Creative Wealth Media. Patel also serves as a producer on the film.

The film is touted to be an action thriller set in India. It will follow the story of a man (Patel) who gets out of prison and is appalled by how things are overrun by money-hungry corporations and how values and moral codes are non-existent. On the heels of his newfound freedom, he decides to exact revenge on those who caused him huge losses in his past.

Patel had earlier opened up about the film, talking about how he had wanted to reimagine the stories of his childhood and weave into them, elements of action and thrill.

The distribution rights to the film had been acquired by Netflix in March last year. The film will be available to stream on the streaming giant’s platform sometime this year.

Meanwhile, Kalsekar was last seen in the ZEE5 web series, 36 Farmhouse. The actress will also be seen in the upcoming Disney+ Hotstar web series Rudra, which will see her share the screen with Ajay Devgn and Raashii Khanna.
