It’s not just about investigation and thriller moments in Mohanlal’s Monster. The makers of the upcoming movie, directed by Vysakh, revealed there’s enough to keep family audiences also entertained with its first track titled Ghoom Ghoom.

The track has Mohanlal as Lucky Singh dancing for a kid and her family. We also get a detailed glimpse of the equations between the characters of Honey Rose, Sudev Nair and Lakshmi Manchu with that of Mohanlal’s in the film, through the song’s visuals.

Composed by Deepak Dev, the Hindi-Malayalam track is rendered by Ali Quli Mirza and Prakash Babu, with backing vocals by Zia ul Haq. Written by BK Harinarayanan, the song is second promo material from the film after the makers had unveiled its trailer earlier in the week.

The team behind Monster has been unusually tight-lipped about the content of the film. Vysakh, in an earlier interview with OTTplay, had said that the film is a thriller and deals with a content that has hitherto been unexplored in Malayalam cinema. The highlight of the movie is that it marks the second collaboration between Mohanlal, Vysakh and scriptwriter Udaykrishna after Pulimurugan.

Mohanlal too had told us that the film is markedly different from their previous project but makes for an entertaining experience, with the second half packed with unexpected twists. Lakshmi Manchu will be making her Malayalam debut with the film, which also has Siddique, Lena and Ganesh Kumar.

The advance bookings for Monster, which is set to hit theatres on October 21, has already begun. Fan shows are expected to begin from 9.30am on Friday. The film, which is Mohanlal’s second theatrical release this year after Aaraattu, could also be his final movie to hit theatres in 2022.

Meanwhile, the actor has completed the UK schedule of Ram, which is helmed by Jeethu Joseph. He also has Shaji Kailas’ Alone set for a direct-to-OTT release by the end of the year.
