Mookuthi Amman 2 first look out: Nayanthara is regal as titular goddess in Sundar C film

We had earlier reported that the sequel to the 2020 film Mookuthi Amman is taking place, with Nayanthara set to reprise the titular character along with a team featuring new cast and crew. Filmmaker Sundar C, who gave this year's first hit Madha Gaja Raja, will be helming the project. On Ayutha Pooja, the makers of Mookuthi Amman 2 released the first-look poster, featuring Nayanthara in full glory as a goddess.

Nayanthara, who was last seen in Test earlier this year, is working on multiple biggies across languages. One among them is the film she is headlining. A follow-up to her 2020 film Mookuthi Amman, the sequel’s first look was released on Thursday.

The first-look poster shows Nayanthara decked up as the titular goddess. In a green saree and fully jewelled, she sits with her chin down and holding a trident and crown. Mookuthi Amman 2 will have a change in director. While actor and filmmaker RJ Balaji helmed in his directorial debut, the upcoming sequel will have Sundar C directing it. The partners of both Nayanthara (director Vignesh Shivan) and Sundar C (actor Kushboo) will be serving as producers besides a bunch of other names.

Mookuthi Amman 2 is yet to have a release date. The upcoming film will have new cast members including Kannada actor Duniya Vijay in his Tamil debut and will play the antagonist. Actors Regina Cassandra, Yogi Babu, Abhinaya, Ramachandra Raju, Ajay Ghosh, Singam Puli, Vichu Viswanath, Iniya, Mynaa Nandini, and others are also part of the film.

The technical crew includes Hiphop Adhi as composer and Venkat Raghavan writing the dialogues. Gopi Amarnath is the cinematographer, and Fenny Oliver is the editor.
