The year 2021 gave us some awe-inspiring series to binge on, right from Bridgerton to Lucifer or Squid Game to Money Heist. The rise in popularity of such shows on OTT has encouraged the creators to return with new seasons this year and they are going to be back with a bang.

On List hai toh hit hai theme special today, we have some of the most anticipated web series and TV shows to stream in 2022. I'm your host Nikhil, let's begin!

The Last of US

This 2013 American action-adventure series is based on a video game of the same name developed by Naughty Dog and Sony Computer Entertainment. The video-game-turned-series by HBO, which is widely popular, has indeed delighted gaming lovers. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey portraying the lead roles as Joel and Elle, are sure to captivate global viewers.

The Ted Lasso season 3

The American sports comedy series that has aired two seasons till date with a 22 episode run is all set for season three this year. The multiple Emmy-Award-winning show that includes laughter, entertainment, and dollops of emotions, features Jason Sudeikis in the titular role. The actor will return along with AFC Richmond to take over the Premier League. Season three is likely to be bigger and better, showcasing some heavyweights of English football.

House of the dragon

Good news for all the Game of Thrones fans, an upcoming American fantasy drama series that is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones highlighting the events of House Targaryen is scheduled to premiere this year. Season one of the series consists of ten episodes with Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke and Rhys Ifans in eminent roles. 

Peaky Blinders

After the five seasons of Peaky Blinders, which took its audience by storm, season six is ready to hit the OTT platforms. It's still not known how the show will address the unfortunate death of Helen McCrory, who portrayed the matriarch Polly Gray in the series. Season 6, which is set nearer to World War II, includes Tommy Shelby’s, Cillian Murphy.

The Lord of the Rings

The upcoming epic fantasy television series based on the novel of the same name by JRR Tolkein will make its way to its viewers this year. Considering the success of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Amazon bought the television rights and has announced a prequel to the books and films scheduled to release this year. It is said to be the most expensive television series ever made. Interesting isn’t it?

The Mandalorian season 3

This popular American space television series that is a Disney+ Original series, has aired 16 episodes in two seasons and will premiere with the third season this year. The series depicts the adventures of a lone bounty hunter, Mandalorian, played by Pedro Pascal.

Obi-Wan- Kenobi

This upcoming American limited series featuring the Star Wars characters Obi-Wan-Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker played by Ewan Mcgregor and Hayden Christensen will premiere on Disney+. The series will be a prequel of Star Wars trilogy and a sequel to Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.

Stranger things season 4

The upcoming season four of one of Netflix’s biggest hits, Stranger Things, is scheduled to release this year. The season, consisting of nine episodes, promises more jumpscares and the Duffer brothers are all set to make it big. The heroes will have greater challenges and threats to overcome.

The Sandman

This American upcoming fantasy television series is based on the novel of the same name by Neil Gaiman. It stars Tom Sturridge as Morpheus and Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer. The plot follows Morpheus, the king of dreams, and one of the seven Endless, who is held captive for 105 years. He escapes and sets out to restore his kingdom of the Dreaming.

The Boys season 3

This American Superhero series that enthralled its audience with 16 episodes in the first two seasons is now scheduled for season three this year. With an ensemble star cast, the show was critically acclaimed for its performances, storyline, and humor. This time it returns with two more additions, Jensen Ackles and Laurie Holden in prominent roles.
