April is an exciting month for Malayalam cinema with the likes of Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3 and Mammootty-led Patriot gearing up for their wide theatrical release. But not just the cinemas, the digital space too will see interesting releases with movies such as Rajisha Vijayan’s Masthishka Maranam, and mystery thriller Sambhavam Adhyayam Onnu expected to make their digital debut. Here is a look at the most-awaited Malayalam OTT releases in April 2026 that are likely to drop on platforms such as JioHotstar, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Sony LIV, and ZEE5.

Actor Askar Ali, the brother of star Asif Ali, leads this mystery thriller film. Despite hitting theatres with hardly any buzz, Sambhavam Adhyayam Onnu managed to garner attention with its mysterious tale unfolding in a forest. Jithu Satheesan has directed the film, the basic story of which was first released as a short film on YouTube. Vineeth Kumar, and Sidharth Bharathan Mangalathu are also part of the film, which is sure to find takers in the digital world.

Filmmaker Krishand is back with another out-of-the-world tale as he takes us on a wacky ride into the dystopian future with his latest Malayalam film. The year is 2046 in neo Kochi, where a youth, grieving over his child’s death, ends up in the memory of a star actress and becomes a witness. Rajisha Vijayan plays the superstar in the film, which takes a dig at the cinema culture and objectification of women. Actors Niranj Maniyanpilla Raju, Vishnu Agasthya, and Divya Prabha are also part of the film, which promises a completely different cinematic experience.

Malayalam actor Jayaram, who was popular during the 90s and 2000s, made a grand return to Mollywood after a hiatus with Ashakal Aayiram. He was joined by son and actor Kalidas in this light-hearted family drama. Director G Prajith’s film depicts a father-son relationship, with the youngster seeking to enter films. Asha Sharath, Sharaf U Dheen, and Ishaani Krishna are also part of the film. There have been reports that the film’s streaming rights have been bagged by Zee5 but there has been no official confirmation.

Popular actress Bhavan leads this Malayalam thriller film, as forensic expert Zara whose brother Zian is found dead. Though police rule it to be a case of suicide, Zara is certain that her brother would not take on his life and sets out to find the truth. Senior actor Rahman plays a police officer in the movie, directed by Riyas Marath. Binu Pappu, Arjun Lal, Shebin Benson, and Vishnu Agasthya are also part of the film, which was released in Tamil as well.

Young actors Mathew Thomas and Devika Sanjay lead this film, which blends fantasy elements. The movie revolves around young ambulance driver Theo, who struggles to get acceptance from society. The twist arises when begins to see visions of deceased people and how his life changes. Arunlal Ramachandran has directed the movie, which also features senior actor Jagadish in a key role.
