Most-awaited Tamil OTT releases in June 2025 on JioHotstar, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Sony LIV, Aha, ZEE5

As we are halfway through May, and even of 2025 in a month, Tamil cinema has been offering a mix bag of releases. There have been star films that were a letdown, some good light-hearted films that won hearts, and interesting releases. As we step into June in a couple of weeks, here are OTT releases in June to look forward to.

Retro – Netflix (TBD)

Retro is a Tamil gangster action film featuring Suriya in the lead role. The film is written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Apart from Suriya, the film also features Pooja Hegde, Joju George, Jayaram, Karunakaran, Nasser, and others. Retro is a period drama about an adopted son of a gangster who is trying to leave his violent life behind to marry his lover.

Maaman – ZEE5 (TBD)

Maaman is a family drama starring Soori in the lead role. The Viduthalai star had written the story of the film as well. Exploring the relationship between a maternal uncle and his nephew, the film speaks about the conflict that arises due to their close relationship and the child’s hyper activeness. Maaman is directed by Prasanth Pandiyaraj and also features Swasika, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Rajkiran, Baba Bhaskar, and others.

DD Next Level – ZEE5 (TBD)

DD Next Level is the fourth part in the Dhilluku Dhuddu, horror comedy franchise. The film stars Santhanam in the lead role, and helmed by Prem Anand. It revolves around a film critic who gets called for a special screening only to be trapped into the film and must save his family who are characters in the film, before the end credits roll. Selvaraghavan, Gautham Menon, Rajendran, Geethika Tiwary and others are part of the film.

Kaliyugam – TBD

Kaliyugam is a dystopian drama featuring Shraddha Srinath, Kishore and others. Written and directed by Pramodh Sundar in his directorial debut, the film is set in a world where the divide between the rich and poor is starkly visible, and existence is under threat.

Ace – Prime Video (TBD)

Ace is an upcoming black comedy film starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. Directed by Aarumugakumar who has previously worked with the Super Deluxeactor in Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren, Ace marks the debut of Kannada actor Rukmini Vasanth, and also features Yogi Babu, Divya Pillai, Babloo Prithveeraj, BS Avinash, Muthu Kumar, Raj Kumar, Denes Kumar, and others. Ace is set primarily in Malayasia.
