She is a known name from the ’70s cinema. Mousumi Chatterjee acted in both Bengali and Hindi film industries simultaneously. Recently she said several unknown things about her career and life in an interview. She minced no words while talking about some known names in the film industry. The actress made some sensational statements also. Mousumi also said that Aparna Sen suffers from insecurities.

Why does she not work with Aparna Sen? When questioned, Mousumi said in 2015 that Aparna was insecure. That time, Aparna's daughter Konkona requested her to not make such comments about her mother. Mousumi disclosed the fact in her interview. 

Mousumi said, “I can understand Konkona's feelings because I was criticising her mother. But I did not badmouth her. I made such comments because Aparna never gave anyone credit. She takes help from people but does not recognise them.” Mousumi worked with Konkona in Aparna's Goynar Baksho in 2013.

Mousumi Chattopadhyay debuted in the film industry with Tarun Majumdar's film Balika Badhu in 1967. She acted in several superhit films like Anurag (1972), Roti Kapda Aur Makan (1974), Manjil (1979), Angur (1982), and Ghar Ek Mandir (1984). She later acted in Shoojit Sircar's Piku, released in 2015. She also got Filmfare's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016.
