In only a few hours, Pruthvi Ambaar’s first film as a police officer, Matsyagandha, will release in theatres. The film marks the debut of actor Prashant Siddi as music director and the team has already shared most of the songs, with the latest, a peppy dance number that is bound to become a party favourite.

Bhageerathi is Prashant’s attempt at creating a special number, for which he’s got Indu Nagaraj on vocals, giving life to director Devaraj Poojary’s lyrics, with model Anjali Pandey busting a few mean moves, while Sourav Lokesh looks on. Leading man Pruthvi, who is also quite the dancer, also joins in the fun for a bit in the song, the full video of which is now available.

Matyagandha, which is Devaraj’s debut directorial, is a story set in Uttara Kannada, and follows the lives of the areas fisherfolk, their temperaments, cultures and more. Prashant’s music will be major highlight of the film, says Pruthvi, adding that the actor’s character, as well as that of Nagaraj Byndoor will remain with audiences, far more than even his.

The actor says that the team has worked hard to make a good film that is high on content and will appeal to audiences. The hope, he adds, is that Kannada audiences, who have been known to support good films, will accept their efforts too.

In Kannada, Matsyagandha is Pruthvi’s first as a cop, which he has done before in Tulu cinema. The film revolves around an incident that occurs with his character, a probationary ASI, and the journey that he then has with the rest of the cast.

Pruthvi will also be seen in debutant Naveen Dwarakanath’s For Regn, in which he is paired with Milana Nagaraj. The film is a love story that explores relationships and the bond between a couple. The actor started the month with another love story, Juni, in which he played a chef who falls in love with an artist, Juni, a young woman dealing with dissociative identity disorder.
