This Kamal Haasan-Gautham Vasudevan Menon psychological/action thriller is a gem in Jyothika’s career. The blockbuster film follows two serial killers who rape and murder young women for sadistic pleasure. Jyothika played an NRI woman in the film who is also Kamal Haasan’s character's love interest. The actress’ vulnerable portrayal of a wife who is trying to escape from the hands of her abusive husband, followed by her abduction by the serial killers, was well received by audiences. The movie is still considered one of the best works of GVM and yet another successful collaboration between Jyothika and the director.

Jyotika gave her career-best performance as a deaf and mute girl in this Radha Mohan directorial romantic drama. With a stellar star cast including Prithviraj, Jyothika, Prakash Raj and Swarnamalya, the movie narrates the story of a musician’s love for a differently abled woman. The film captured the audiences’ hearts through the heartwarming performances and beautiful music scored by Vidyasagar.
