Janhvi Kapoor has kicked off promotions for Mr and Mrs Mahi in style. The actress has been going and about to promote her film with co-star Rajkummar Rao. The actress' promotional looks for Mr and Mrs Mahi have also grabbed everyone's attention. For the uninitiated, Janhvi has opted for method dressing, wherein she wears outfits in line with the theme of her film, Mr and Mrs Mahi. In a recent interview with News18, the actress said working on her outfit ideas feels like working on a school assignment.
Janhvi Kapoor on method dressing for Mr and Mrs Mahi promotions
Janhvi Kapoor praised Uorfi Javed and Zendaya for being "creative" when it comes to method dressing. The actress also admitted seeking inspiration from Alia Bhatt, who followed the same process for Gangubai Kathiawadi and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
Speaking about opting for method dressing for Mr and Mrs Mahi's promotions, Janhvi said, "I am having fun with it. I love dressing up. It feels like working on a school assignment. So, I am treating it like that (laughs). My stylist and I are sitting on each look and accessory. I don’t know how much it will help the film but I’m happy that it has become a little bit of a talking point."
The actress further recalled following the same process for her Bollywood debut film, Dhadak (2018). Janhvi mentioned that there's a fair amount of attention paid to how actors dress and their looks are becoming a talking point. She feels method dressing is just one more trope.
What is Mr and Mrs Mahi about?
For those who are unaware, Sharan Sharma's film, Mr and Mrs Mahi, is about the life of a couple Mahendra and Mahima, who discover their common love for cricket. Mahendra spots cricketing talent in his wife Mahima, and he encourages her to pursue her dream of becoming a cricketer. Mahendra also coaches during this journey.
