‘Mr. And Mrs. Smith’ Teaser Trailer - Donald Glover, Maya Erskine are an odd married couple in action-comedy remake

Amazon Prime dropped an enthralling teaser trailer for its highly anticipated action series adaptation featuring Donald Glover and Maya Erskin as a chaotic married couple. The first-look trailer reflects the deadpan comedy with eye-grabbing action scenes. Thursday is definitely a lucky day for fans and both Netflix and Prime have released their intriguing trailers, making it a tough choice for action lovers.  

Mr. & Mrs. Smith's Trailer looks promising

Doug Liman's directorial, action comedy film is getting its remake in Amazon’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Loosely based on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's movie of the same name, Mr. & Mrs. Smith narrates the story of two lonely strangers in Manhattan who team up after they are hired as spy agents by a mysterious organization. While they navigate the dual life of espionage, their real feelings make their mission tricky.   

In the 1:43-minute teaser trailer, we meet two strangers going by the name of John and Jane Smith and telling some conventional lies about their marriage to the people they meet on their secret missions. With every mission, gun-fights, cat and mouse chase – The couple’s relationship changes its dynamics.

Star cast

In the lead roles, we have Donald Glover and Maya Erskine who plays the fake married couple, Jane and John Smith.  

The series also stars Paul Dano, Parker Posey, Wagner Moura, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Michala Coel, Eiza Gonzalez, Alexander Skarsgard, Sharon Horgan, and others in guest roles.    

When and where to watch

Just like hundreds of projects stuck due to the SAG-AFRA strike – Mr. & Mrs. Smith too had its initial November release dragged to several months, but it is a relief to know that the new contract deal has greenlit many upcoming movies/shows.  

You can watch this action-comedy on Amazon Prime as it is slated for a February 2 release.   

Donald Glover apart from acting his character as Mr. Smith, also collaborated in the series as the executive producer and co-creator alongside Francesca Sloane.   

After the trailer release, fans were overwhelmed to watch the upcoming series and lauded the main leads for their promising acting stint in the short teaser. One fan wrote, “I'm really happy this wasn't the same story as the original! I'm looking forward to seeing this”. Another wrote, I'm really glad is not the same as the movie. They took the idea and made their own thing, which makes it more interesting to watch”.
