Mr King OTT release date: When and where to watch Sharan Kumar, Yashvika Nishkala, Urvi Singh’s film

Vijaya Nirmala’s grandson and nephew to veteran actor Naresh (his cousin Raj Kumar’s son) Sharan Kumar forayed into Telugu cinema with the entertainer Mr King recently. The film, directed by Sasiidhar Chavali, released in theatres on February 24 and featured Yashvika Nishkala, Urvi Singh as the female leads. Mani Sharma scored the music for the film that also starred Tanikella Bharani, Murali Sharma , Vennela Kishore, Sunil, SS Kanchi and Mirchi Kiran.

Noted OTT platform Amazon Prime Video acquired the film’s post-theatrical streaming rights and premiered it worldwide today (March 25), exactly a month after it hit screens. Baby Hanvika presented the film produced by BN Rao under Hanvika Creations. The makers at the time of its release captioned the film as a ‘rebel with integrity’ and said it was a ‘not so simple love story’ based on true incidents.

The story revolves around the ambitions and the love-life of a stubborn youngster, who sticks to his belief system and doesn’t let go of it, come what way. When his romantic interest proposes marriage, he asks the girl to convince her parents and fight for her love. Meanwhile, he encounters a few challenges with his career too. How does he strike a balance? Is there a happy ending in store?

Besides direction, Sasiidhar Chavali has written the story and also edited the film. Tanvir Anzum cranked the camera for Mr King which was co-produced by Ravikiran Chavali. Hari Krishna Muriki co-wrote the dialogues. Lyricists Bhaskarabhatla, Ramajogaiah Sastry, Kadali worked on the album while Bhupathi Raja choreographed the song sequences. Ram Ramesh K is the art director.

“The story is about a man with an identity and centres on the conflict between his career and love life. He is a straightforward youngster who does no wrong and has firm opinions in life. What are the difficulties he would encounter? Handling a debutant like Sharan Kumar minus any baggage came in handy. Audiences get a chance to observe characters better with a newcomer,” Sasidhar Chavali said at the time of the release.
