Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway: Rani Mukerji suggested his name, says Anirban Bhattacharya

Rani Mukerji’s legal drama Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway- was released on March 17. The film that delves into the real-life events of Sagarika Bhattacharya also features Anirban Bhattacharya, who plays Rani Mukerji’s husband. As Anirban starts his career in Hindi, he elaborated on his experience.

In an interview with Free Press Journal, Anirban said, “I got a call from a casting agency. They said that Ashima Chibber (director of the film) would like to talk to me. They fixed an online call. There, the director told me that it was Rani who suggested my name. 

When asked about his experience in the Hindi industry, Anirban said, “Both the industries I worked in so far are pretty old. The Hindi film industry is undoubtedly the largest of all. Maximum people in our country watch Hindi films. Any other language films, including Bengali and South Indian films, are regional language films. The Bengali film industry is not large. The budget is limited. If a film is made spending Rs 5-6 cr, we call it a big-budget film. Our industry’s infrastructure is also limited if you compare it with Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, etc. We use old gear to make films. Despite that, we have outstanding artists and writers. When it comes to content, we are at par with many other industries.

How was his experience of working with Rani? Anirban said that it was an excellent experience. It was like a dream-come-true moment. It was beyond my expectations that I would work with someone as big as her. After overcoming the initial nervousness, I tried to give my best. I focused on my character,” said the actor.  

Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway has been liked by the audience so far. Anirban will be seen in the new season of Byomkesh on Hoichoi. After that his new film Abar Bibaho Obhijaan will be released.
