Rani Mukerji plays the character of Sagarika Bhattacharya who won the case against the Norway government and returned to India with her kids in Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway. However, her new struggle started then. Sagarika alleged that her husband still lives in Norway and does not spend a dime on their kids.

Hard reality makes Sagarika stay apart from her two children. The film Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway, starring Rani Mukerji, was just released. The film shows the struggle of Bengal's daughter Sagarika. She once fought alone against the Norway government to get custody of her kids. She got her two children, Abhigyan and Aishwarya, back after a long legal battle. But in the meantime, she got separated from her husband Anurup.

Now Sagarika lives alone. Her children do not stay with her. Why did she let them go, especially after that long and hard battle? Sagarika regretted to the media, “Anurup (Bhattacharya) does not spend a dime for his kids. He did not return from Norway. You have seen my battle to get hold of my children on screen. But then I had to go through another struggle to stand on my feet.”

Sagarika passed an MBA before her wedding. She had to take responsibility for her family after coming back to India. Her father got sick all of a sudden. Sagarika had to leave the city to earn for her father's treatment and her kids' schooling. She lives and works outside Kolkata. Sagarika said, “Four lives depend on me. I was compelled to take a job outside Kolkata.” She first worked at a Noida office. Right now, she lives in Pune. Aishwarya and Abhigyan are being brought up by their grandparents. Sagarika already wrote a book about her legal battles. She said, “The next battle was also tough. I had to fight even after coming back to India. I am thinking of writing another book.”

Sagarika expressed grudges against Anurup. In the film, the husband (played by Anirban Bhattacharya) was shown beating Debika (Rani), saying that her obsession to get back her kids could create an obstacle for his getting citizenship. Sagarika said that what was shown was nothing. She suffered e lot more torture.
