Mrunal Thakur: I’m looking forward to working with Telugu star Nani

Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur is quite excited to work with the Telugu star Nani in her next yet-to-be-titled family drama film, the shooting for which began in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Talking about her opportunity to work with Nani, Mrunal said, “I’m elated and excited to be a part of this project. It’s a really heartwarming story and the team backing the project is immensely talented. I’m looking forward to working with Nani.”

The actress earlier appeared opposite Shahid Kapoor in the Gowtam Naidu Tinnanuri-directed movie Jersey, which was the official remake of the Telugu film of the same name. Interestingly, the male protagonist of the original film was played by Nani. Since Mrunal is now working with the actor, she also said that this is going to be the next big step for her to find her space in south Indian films. The untitled project is produced under the banner Vyra Entertainments. 

For the unversed, Nani is one of the most prominent names in Telugu cinema, who has given some of the most successful films including - Ashta Chamma, Eega, Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu, Jersey and Shyam Singha Roy.

Mrunal has already received a lot of love for her performance in the 2022 Telugu film, Sita Ramam, which was also released in Hindi. In it, she was paired with Dulquer Salmaan. The actress will soon make a special appearance in the Akshay Kumar-starrer film Selfiee, while she has finished shooting for the war film Pippa, alongside Ishaan Khattar. She has more projects in the pipeline.

Making her mark on television with shows like Mujhse Kuchh Kehti… Yeh Khamoshiyaan and Kumkum Bhagya, Mrunal has been constantly proving their talent with each project that she has chosen - be it Love Sonia, Super 30, Batla House, Ghost Stories, Toofaan, Dhamaka or Jersey. She has also acted in Marathi films.
