Mrunal Thakur has urged the viewers to give Gumraah a chance. She asks the viewers to not judge the film because it is a remake. Mrunal plays the lead actress in the film which stars Aditya Roy Kapur in dual roles.

Gumraah is the remake of the Tamil film Thadam. The 2019 film starred Arun Vijay in the lead role with Tanya Hope as the female lead.

“Yes, Gumraah is a remake, but watch it for the director’s (Vardhan Ketkar) take (on the original), for Aditya who has given the best performance of his career, and because I haven’t done something like this before,” Mrunal told Mid-Day. The actress also pleaded to the viewers to not judge the film based on the buzz and reviews.

She asked the viewers to judge the movie based on the trailer rather than the critic views. The actress also spoke about the necessity of promoting films in times when people don’t even know that good movies are being made.

Mrunal was in the limelight in 2022 due to her movie, Sita Ramam. The actress shares that she has been receiving beautiful romantic scripts since the release of that film.

She now believes that Gumraah will offers the filmmakers an opportunity to see her as an actress who can perform well in the thriller genre too. “Today, I have the confidence to look a filmmaker in the eyes and tell them, ‘Give me any role, and I would be able to perform it well’. There is nothing that I cannot do, and I want my audience to see that too,” she shared.

Mrunal has four more films in the pipeline this year, apart from Gumraah. She will be seen in Pippa, Pooja Meri Jaan, Lust Stories 2 and Nani 30 soon.
