Ms. Marvel: Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan comes out as ‘The Light Girl’ in this fun clip from the MCU series - watch

Ms. Marvel, which was the seventh television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios, released with a particularly focused hype in India. The show, which follows Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American high-schooler, captured the attention of Indian fans. The show’s makers have now released a short video from the sixth and final episode of the first season, where Kamala opens up to his family about her superpowers. 

The video, which was shared by Marvel Entertainment, begins with Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan asking his family to gather around, as she is ready to make an announcement. She starts off by apologising for not having made the announcement sooner and for sneaking out for AvengerCon. 

“I am The Light Girl”, she says, to the amusement of her brother and parents. She then says that she is “Night Light”, to which her family delivers a rather orchestrated bemusement, which gives her the impression that they all knew about her secret already. 

Her brother then reveals that if their mother knows, she tells their father. And when their father knows, they get to know because he has his phone on speaker mode. The little clip gives a look at the interesting family dynamics of Kamala’s household. 

The sixth and final episode of the mini-series is now out on Disney+ Hotstar. The show has received generally positive reviews, for its making and at how it targets a particular demography. Apart from Vellani, the show also stars Matt Lintz. Yasmeen Fletcher, Mohan Kapur, Azhar Usman and Arian Moayed. Indian filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and Pakistani actor Fawad Khan also make short appearances in the show. 

All the six episodes of Ms. Marvel is now available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar.
