Ms. Marvel gave the Marvel Cinematic Universe its first ever Muslim superhero in the form of Kamala Khan, an Avengers fangril who finds herself gifted with the powers of her coveted heroes. Iman Vellani stars as the titular superhero in the Marvel series, which also features Farhan Akhtar. The actress opened up about working with Akhtar in the show, and also revealed her love for Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan’s films.

According to a report in IANS, Vellani called working with Akhtar an ‘amazing’ experience. The actress recalled how Akhtar would tell her ahost of stories on set, including those about his skydiving adventures and the other films he did. Vellani also revealed that she had watched and loved Akhtar’s film, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011).

Calling Akhtar a ‘fascinating person’, Vellani said the actor looked ‘very cool’ in the show. “It's crazy that I grew up watching him, and now I am working with him," she said.

While Vellani’s character in the series seemed to be a Shah Rukh Khan fan, the actress revealed that she was a big fan of Aamir Khan and his films such as 3 Idiots. Vellani also said that she would love to work with Khan some time, calling him a ‘phenomenal’ actor.

In addition to Vellani and Akhtar, the series also features Mohan Kapur, Fawad Khan, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Zenobia Shroff, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Adaku Ononogbo, Alysia Reiner, Azhar Usman, Mehwish Hayat, Samina Ahmed, Laurel Marsden, Arian Moayed, Laith Nakli, Nimra Bucha, Travina Springer and Aramis Knight.

Ms. Marvel premiered its first episode on Disney+Hotstar. New episodes will be released every week on Wednesday.
