It is a dream come true moment for the filmmaker Pragabhal Das, as his off-road mud race movie Muddy has been welcomed warmly by the audiences. The multilingual film starring Yuvan Krishna and Ridhaan Krishna is also claimed to be the first Indian film on off-road racing.

In an interview with onmanorama, Praghabhal said he is all excited about the success of his movie. He revealed that he has been a mud-racing enthusiast himself who is crazy about vehicles, which made him choose the same theme when he decided to try his luck in cinema.

The director further explained his five-year-long journey to make the film. He seems to have taken one whole year just to select the location. Finding the sound crew was the next challenge which took time. The other major hurdle was his dream to shoot the mud race without dupes, which were not very acceptable to the lead actors he approached. When he was almost about to drop the project, his brothers agreed to do the roles, which turned out very well for him.

The director has played multiple roles in the film. Apart from being the writer of the film, he also choreographed all the mud races. When asked about this, he said all of them were equally challenging. He had done a detailed study online about everything he had to know about the theme, even though any direct references were hard to get.

Muddy was originally slated for an earlier release, which was delayed due to the pandemic. Amid the pressure of going for an OTT release, the director stuck on to the theatres, as he felt the big screen experience was more important for the movie.

On a concluding note, he hinted about a second part to the movie, and also other few projects in his mind, which he said is too early to talk about.
