Mudhal Nayagan, the special track from Sivakarthikeyan's recent offering, Don, is all set to be released tomorrow. The makers made the announcement on their social media page today. They wrote, "The visuals of a very special track from our #DON - #MudhalNaayagan will be out tomorrow at 5 PM 馃晹 @Siva_Kartikeyan @KalaiArasu_ @Udhaystalin @LycaProductions @RedGiantMovies_ @Dir_Cibi @anirudhofficial @priyankaamohan @iam_SJSuryah @thondankani @Lyricist_Vivek @ananthkrrishnan (sic)." Music for the film is by Anirudh, marking yet another successful collaboration between Sivakarthikeyan and Anirudh after their last outing Doctor.
The film marks the directorial debut of Cibi Chakravarthi. Priyanka Mohan plays the leading lady in the film, while SJ Suryah plays the antagonist as a strict disciplinarian professor. Samuthirakani plays Sivakarthikeyan's father in the film. The supporting cast includes Soori, Bala Saravanan, Manobala, Sivaangi Krishnakumar, Kaali Venkat, Munishkanth, Raju Jeyamohan and Radha Ravi.
Gautham Menon makes a cameo appearance as himself in the film. Don has been extensively shot across Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Coimbatore, Pollachi and Udumalpettai. While the cinematography for the film is by KM Bhaskaran, editing is by Nagooran Ramachandran. The film opened to positive reviews from the critics and audience and emerged as one of the biggest hits of Sivakarthikeyan. The film also got a huge opening in many parts of the world, including the US, where it opened in 22 screens. It is reported that Don has become the third Tamil film to cross 100k$ in a single day.
Sivakarthikeyan, who had also bankrolled the film, had wished director Cibi Chakravarthi on the occasion, with a post on social media page, ""Excited and extremely happy to present you #DON 鉂わ笍 @Dir_Cibi 鈥榮 maiden directorial venture, hope you all wil lik this film.. DON is all yours now 鉂わ笍鉂わ笍馃憤 #DONfromToday (sic)." The campus comedy caper is now streaming on the OTT giant, Netflix.
