Mukesh Khanna deletes YouTube video, post criticising Ranveer Singh’s Shaktimaan role

Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna recently made headlines when he criticised Ranveer Singh over the rumoured Shaktimaan project. The veteran actor, who is best known for playing the desi superhero Shaktimaan, had earlier shared a social media post, addressing the rumours of Ranveer Singh portraying the iconic character. The YouTube video as well as the Instagram post have now been taken down by Mukesh.

Mukesh Khanna has taken down the controversial video in which he criticised Bollywood’s powerhouse actor Ranveer Singh. For the uninitiated, Mukesh shared a video on his YouTube channel, Bheeshm International, to address the ongoing rumours that the Padmaavat actor would be leading the Shaktimaan project in the titular character. In the video, Mukesh dismissed the reports about the expected casting of the upcoming superhero film.

Meanwhile, in a recent video, Mukesh Khanna has asked everyone to wait until an official announcement. "Casting is not done yet, we will inform you," the video shared the latest development.

Several reports have been doing the rounds on the internet about Ranveer Singh playing the titular character ever since the big-budget project was announced. Recently, Mukesh Khanna spoke about the iconic character’s return and expressed sheer disappointment over the casting while citing Ranveer Singh’s image.

“The entire social media has been abuzz with rumours that Ranveer Singh is going to play the role of Shaktimaan. Everyone was upset about it. I was silent but when the channels also declared that Ranveer has signed the film, then I had to break my silence. I said that no matter how big a star he is, an actor with this kind of an image can never play Shaktimaan,” Mukesh said in the video in Hindi.

The producer-actor Mukesh also took a sly dig at Ranveer Singh’s nude photoshoot in the video and suggested that he could go to countries that support such nudity. The deleted video also said Shaktimaan is not just a character but also a teacher who guides people and they in turn listen to him.

In 2022, Sony had announced that it would be spearheading the big-budget film that is inspired by India’s beloved superhero Shaktimaan. However, more official announcements are still awaited.
