Mukundan Unni Associates OTT release confirmed, Vineeth Sreenivasan’s film to drop on Hotstar on this date

After a long wait, the makers of Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Mukundan Unni Associates have officially announced the release date of the film on Disney+ Hotstar. The dark comedy, helmed by Abhinav Sunder Nayak, had hit theatres in November 2022.

The sleeper hit, which also stars Suraj Venjaramoodu, Arsha Baiju, George Kora and Tanvi Ram, has Vineeth playing the titular role of a lawyer who would go to any extreme to achieve his eventual goal of becoming successful. Vineeth’s role of a man with no moral code is arguably one of his best characters in his career.

In a recent interview with OTTplay, the actor said that Mukundan Unni is a narcissistic man, who only thinks about himself. “Abhi wanted the body language of the character to be minimal. He wanted the communication to mostly be through the eyes and the modulation. For instance, when we talk naturally, there are specific movements in terms of our body language as well as how we shake our head. Mukundan Unni is highly focused and self-centred, so he doesn’t express anything much. So, his feelings are always contained within him,” said the actor, who was praised for his portrayal in the movie.

The team had already announced that the film will release on an OTT platform in January and now, Vineeth through a brand new poster has revealed that Mukundan Unni Associates will drop on Disney+ Hotstar on January 13.

Meanwhile, Vineeth, who is currently shooting for Kurukkan along with his father Sreenivasan and Shine Tom Chacko, also has debutant Saheed Arafath’s Thankam lined up for theatrical release on January 26. The movie, which is produced by Bhavana Studios, is scripted by Syam Pushkaran and is touted to be a crime drama. Biju Menon, Aparna Balamurali and Girish Kulkarni are the other actors in pivotal roles in the film, which is set to clash with Mohanlal’s Alone.
