Mukundan Unni Associates OTT release date: When, where to watch Vineeth Sreenivasan’s dark comedy online

The wait for Mukundan Unni Associates’ OTT release will wind up soon! The film’s director Abhinav Sunder Nayak recently took to his social media page to announce when the movie, starring Vineeth Sreenivasan, will drop on a streaming platform.

The dark comedy, which also has Arsha Baiju, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Tanvi Ram and Sudhi Koppa, revolves around a lawyer whose sole goal in life is to become successful, by all means necessary. Vineeth plays the titular character, who becomes aware of an insurance scam and decides to make hay while the sun shines, even if it requires him to manipulate people’s emotions in the gravest of the times or worse.

Mukundan Unni Associates is also probably Vineeth’s first film, where he plays a character with no virtues whatsoever. The actor in an interview with OTTPlay, ahead of the film’s theatrical release on November 11, had said, “Mukundan Unni is a narcissistic man, who only thinks about himself. As far as he is concerned, he has a destination in mind and does everything necessary to reach there; he doesn’t think about how it will impact other people, he only cares about himself.”

The film’s OTT release is expected to be in January 2023, as revealed by Abhinav, who in his tongue-in-cheek post had asked those who haven’t included the movie in their favourite films of 2022 list must wait till the movie drops on OTT. It’s reported that Disney+ Hotstar, which had also picked up the streaming rights for Vineeth’s directorial Hridayam earlier this year, has bought the OTT rights for Mukundan Unni Associates.

It would be interesting to see how the movie is accepted after it releases on a streaming platform. For the theatre version, Abhinav had added several visual elements such as the screen widening with every passing minute as well as some engaging animation during its start and interval portions to ensure that the audience had a different experience while watching the movie on big screens.
