Anubhav Sinha's Mulk 2 has gone on floors. The courtroom drama from 2018 is back after more than half a decade and unfortunately, Rishi Kapoor is not a part of it this time around. The original film was recognized for his acting skills, apart from Taapsee Pannu's. So, who's going to star in Mulk 2? Here's everything we know so far...
Naam Shabana actress Taapsee Pannu is back for Mulk sequel. The same comes days after Taapsee hinted at her reunion with the director during Thappad's half-a-decade release celebrations. Like the original film, Mulk 2 delves into another social theme. Although there's no certainty on what that is, a source clarified to Mid-Day that Gaurav Solanki of Article 15 fame will be associated with Mulk sequel.
While it is still unclear if he will replace Rishi Kapoor completely from what could be the spiritual sequel for Mulk, Chamak actor Manoj Pahwa, who was a part of the original movie too, is back for Mulk 2. As for the OTT season, Pahwa’s role has come to a devastating end, but hints at a new beginning, one that could go grand with Yamla Pagla Deewana trio aka the Deols Dharmendra with his sons Bobby and Sunny Deol.
Mulk was about bigotry faced by a Muslim family. The movie featured Taapsee and Rishi both in the roles of lawyers.
Taapsee is currently in talks for Gandhari. The film would see her portray the role of a mother who is on a mission. Apart from that, Taapsee has also hinted at another sequel to Haseen Dillruba. The first two installments starred Vikrant Massey as the male lead, with Harshvardhan Rane and Sunny Kaushal playing the second leads in the first and second installment, respectively. If the third installment is also in the works, it would be interesting to see who would play second fiddle to her character.
