Mumbai Diaries Season 2 2023: Release date, OTT partner, trailer, plot, cast, behind-the-scenes and more

Mohit Raina and Konkona Sen Sharma starrer Mumbai Diaries is back with a new tragic and thrilling tale in its sequel. Created and directed by Nikkhil Advani, the upcoming instalment is set against the backdrop of the Mumbai Floods.

Plot of the show

Mumbai Diaries season 2 chronicles the lives of a group of doctors in a government hospital in Mumbai, who get to deal with multiple chaotic occurrences as medical professionals in a major institution. The upcoming instalment is set against the backdrop of the Mumbai Floods, which took a toll on this huge and densely populated city of the country.

The trailer witnesses multiple actors reprising their roles from the first season, and a few new characters also get introduced. The official video witnesses how Raina and Sharma along with others go beyond their profession to help the people of the city on a human level and save them.

The cast of Mumbai Diaries Season 2

Mohit Raina, Konkona Sen Sharma, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Natasha Bhardwaj, Satyajeet Dubey, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Tina Desai and Sonali Kulkarni are reprising their crucial character in Mumbai Diaries Season 2, while Prakash Belawadi, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Ridhi Dogra and Balaji Gauri are a few new additional in pivotal roles.

Behind-the-scenes

The makers are yet to unveil some behind-the-camera actions from the upcoming instalment. However, Raina shared a BTS video from last season a couple of years ago that sees the creators talking about their idea and plan of execution on one of the very sensitive topics such as terrorism. Meanwhile, the pivotal cast can also be seen sharing their experiences of working in the show. The Mahadev star dropped the video on his official Instagram handle with a special caption that reads, "The toughest roads lead to beautiful destinations. Here’s how we made it! (sic)."
