Mumbaikar marks South star Vijay Sethupathi's Bollywood debut and stars him along with Vikrant Massey, Tanya Maniktala, Sanjay Mishra and Ranvir Shorey in pivotal roles. The action thriller film, which is directed by Santosh Sivan, is the adaptation of the 2017 Indian Tamil-language hyperlink action thriller movie named Maanagaram.
Makers have unveiled a thrilling and fun-packed official teaser and trailer recently that gives glimpses of the key characters of the film. Sethupathi can be seen arriving in the city of dreams and getting involved in unnecessary confusion as he mistakenly kidnaps the son of one of the biggest gangsters in the city. As he tries to return him to his father, he loses the kid to Vikrant and Tanya, who then plan to get ransom from the big-shot criminal in return for his son.
The latest trailer further witnesses all the confusion, chaos, drama and fun that happens due to a huge misunderstanding.
The story of Mumbaikar is by Maanagaram's director Lokesh Kanagara and is written for the Hindi adaptation by Himanshu Singh and Amit Joshi. Bankrolled by Shibu Thameens under HR Pictures in association with Jio Studios, it also features Raghav Binani, Hridhu Haroon, Ishan Mishra and Sachin Khedekar in supporting roles.
Mumbaikar is all set to have a direct-to-OTT release on Jio Cinema on June 2 for free.
