After Karan Johar's The Traitors, we have another survival show coming up, and that is The Society. Hosted by Munawar Faruqui, the show is all set to land on JioHotstar on July 21. You can also stream it on OTTplay Premium. The Society has drawn inspiration from Bigg Boss, Lock Upp, and Squid Game. Ahead of the release, Munawar shared some details of his show.
During a press conference, Munawar Faruqui discussed the ongoing divisions around class and status in the real world. Reflecting on his upcoming show, The Society, he shared that it revolves around a similar theme, where one has the freedom to play with one's dignity.
He said, "In 'The Society', there is no argument. It is just a fight to change your place. If your position changes. If you are not a star kid on this show, you can become a star kid. This is just an example. There is no relation between good and bad acting here."
The Society, hosted by Munawar Faruqui, will have 25 contestants battling for 200 hours, testing their strength, strategy, and will to win. The show divides contestants into three groups - Royals, Regulars, and Rags - and will include challenges and tasks designed to reflect social hierarchy and the realities of survival. This show is expected to have a similar vibe to Squid Game, Lock Upp, and Bigg Boss. The show will be full of chaos, entertainment, and survival.
